1 - Getting Started

Firefly partners with full-time (40+ hours per week) drivers that participate in approved driving programs (rideshare, delivery, taxi, etc.).

Firefly operates in cities in all 50 states. Most opportunities are in large metropolitan areas.

Drivers earn extra money for the time they already spend on the road!

There are no fees to participate. Firefly provides all equipment to the driver at no cost. All equipment must be returned in great condition at the end of the driver’s tenure in the program.

2 - Qualifying

Vehicles must be from 2011 or newer, in great working condition and without cosmetic damage. For digital displays, a vehicle must be compatible with specialty roof racks that securely mount the display to the vehicle’s roof. For car wraps, the vehicle must have factory-applied paint (not repainted) without existing paint damage.

Go about your normal driving while ensuring your phone’s software version is updated and the Firefly Driver app has location tracking “always on.” This will allow us to properly track your hours and get you approved! Drivers must drive 40 or more hours per week for a minimum of 3 weeks to be eligible for approval.

Wait time for approval varies depending on a number of factors, including order of the waitlist, campaign requirements and equipment availability. It’s typically a minimum of 3 weeks before a driver can be approved.

Due to high demand in our cities, it may take up to 6 months to be approved. We appreciate your patience!
3 - Onboarding

The Firefly Driver app will notify you when you’ve been approved. You’ll then need to upload your driver’s license, insurance and vehicle registration information.

Once your app registration is complete, you will be instructed to schedule an installation appointment, which will take place at your local Firefly office.

A digital display installation takes 1 hour or less. Car wrap installation duration varies depending on the type of wrap, from 30 minutes to 4 hours.

The digital display is mounted on roof-friendly racks — no drilling, holes or roof modification are required. The car wraps are made of paint-friendly vinyl.

After the installation is complete, you’ll simply go about your normal driving and earn more for your time on the road!
4 - Driving

For digital displays, payment is based on your bi-weekly driving hours. Payments are made bi-weekly via direct deposit. For payment amounts and schedules, please review the Terms & Conditions for your city in the Firefly Driver app. The average driver earns $200-$300 per month.
For car wraps, payment varies based on the campaign requirements and duration.

Yes, there are additional income opportunities, such as vehicle photoshoots and special driving events!

Our displays are GPS-enabled to track your drive time. Your daily driving hours will appear in your Firefly Driver app within 24 hours.

Drivers with digital displays must use touchless car washes or wash their vehicles by hand in order to prevent damage to the smart screen caused by overhead brushes, rollers, etc. If washing by hand, please do not spray directly at the screen — water pressure can damage the LEDs in the screen.
Drivers with car wraps can go through automatic car washes.

Firefly may reach out to you via call, text or email if the display is malfunctioning or requires an update. You must be extremely responsive to these communications and bring your vehicle in for a scheduled appointment. Failure to do so in a timely manner will affect the display’s time-tracking capability and, thus, your payment.

There is no required duration for the display, but we kindly ask that you try the program for at least 2 months before requesting an uninstall. A wrap will need to remain on your vehicle for the full campaign duration, ranging from one week to one year.

No, all Firefly equipment must be securely mounted and removed by our team of professional technicians. In the event that you remove the equipment, you would be responsible for any damaged or lost Firefly equipment and any damage to your vehicle.
